Here's some (hopefully) helpful info for our performance at the Historical Society's gala:
Here's the link for the event itself: Maine Historical Society
Location: The Portland Masonic Temple

Arrive by 7 pm for a quick run-through.
We perform around 8:30 pm after the silent auction and before the band starts.
Attire is 20s vintage, but as Gillian mentioned, try not to stress out about what to wear. I know I stress less if I have more information and more choices to figure out what the heck to wear, since I am challenged, fashion-wise. Here are some ideas for inspiration. None of these ideas are absolutely required; it's more of a guideline to give you some ideas of what you might grab from your closet (or from Goodwill!) to style up your look.
For your guests, attire is formal OR vintage, according to the website.

The bullet points for the ladies: Straight line dresses, low-waisted dresses, pleated skirts, cloche hats, flowy floral dresses for daytime, sashes, ascot-like scarves, flower adornments, headbands, rolled stockings, long beaded straight dresses for evening, sheer overdresses with slip dresses underneath. T-strap shoes, heels (if you are really daring), maryjanes, etc. Covered foreheads (with a hat, headband or bangs).
For the guys: Short, high-buttoned suit jackets, cuffed trousers, straight short pants (so that socks showed--argyle is good!) & neckties (for early 20s), looser trousers and wider lapel jackets and wider neckties for late 20s. Hats or vests are also good. If you have a pair of knickers lying around, that would be acceptable too. Short neckties or bowties. So pretty much anything goes.

For more photos of summer daytime 20s looks recreated in the modern era, do an image search for "Jazz Age Lawn Party". Most will be photos of a bi-annual event in NY where the vintage fashionistas really know how to do it right.
The most important thing to wear: A smile. Nobody will notice what you're wearing if you just look like you are having a great time.
