Balboa Crash Course with Jen & RayMonday, 2/246:30 - 8:45 pm (there will be a short break mid-class)
The Dance Hall
7 Walker St. Kittery
This two-hour workshop is appropriate for total beginners (or perpetual beginners) who want to learn or review the basics of Balboa. The material covered will be the prerequisites for the Balboa Workshop with July and Stan on 4/21.
Balboa, also known as "Bal", is a close-embrace swing dance that originated in Southern California during the 1920s and enjoyed huge popularity during the 1930s and 1940s. It's a style that can be mixed with your Lindy Hop and is easy to do with fast music without expending too much energy.
Over two hours of instruction, we'll cover basic Bal connection, basic footwork, the comearound, lollies, and the toss-out.
Also available for streaming on Zoom.
Full class replay and recap available the next day.
No partner or experience required. We'll be rotating partners in class. (NOT ELEF)
