Wednesday Online Basic Solo Jazz, 6:30 pm starting 1/6/21
Practice the basics of solo jazz (solo swing dancing) with short exercises and routines. The focus will be on folks who are have finished the "Beginner solo jazz I" and "Beginner solo jazz II" classes (equivalent to the solo jazz moves covered in the A & B in-person classes) and want to practice their skills. The class will be progressive for 8 weeks.
$80 for all 8 weeks of live Zoom classes plus access to full-class replay videos and routine videos.
Thursday Online Int./Adv. Solo Jazz Class, 6 pm starting 1/7/21
This 8-week progressive class will focus on classic and modern solo jazz sequences. It will be expected that you have some mastery of basic solo jazz movements before taking this class. The routines will be challenging!
$80 for all 8 weeks of live Zoom classes plus access to full-class replay videos and routine videos.
Saturday Online Tap Class, 10 am starting 1/9/21
The 8-week class sessions start from scratch for those who have never tap danced before and progress for the duration of the session. It's meant to be repeated and is appropriate for those who want to brush up as well as beginners. Advanced options will be given for returning students.
Each class consists of a half-hour(ish) of exercises and a half-hour of a sequence that will put your new skills into a routine.
Tap shoes are helpful but not required. Leather-soled or smooth-soled shoes are recommended if you don't have taps. If you're wearing tap shoes, make sure you have a piece of plywood to put on a secure carpet to avoid slipping or damaging your floors while you dance. Click here for more info about tap shoes!

Streaming Only - Beginner Solo Jazz I
8 classes (1 hour each), stream at your own pace.
Learn the BASICS of solo vernacular jazz, one move at a time. You'll learn new vocabulary each week with a short sequence and lots of time to practice. The focus will be on folks who are brand new to the style.
Skills included in this course: walking on the beat, walking every other beat, rock steps, pivot steps, touch steps, crossover steps, shouts (hallelujah rocks), heels steps, crazy legs, twists (swivels), pecks, stomp offs, tack annies, boogie drops, swing kicks, fishtails, skates, boogie backs, boogie forward, fall off the log, foot drags, lowdowns, jazz square (jazz box), slip slop.
Streaming Only - Beginner Solo Jazz II
Available starting 12/18/20
8 classes (1 hour each) to be streamed at your own pace.
This class covers BASIC vernacular solo jazz movements.
Skills included: triple steps, single kicks, Lindy Hop basic footwork (step step triple step), pushes and crossovers, rock step kick step, kick ball changes, boogie backs, boogie forwards, fall off the log, half breaks, scissor kicks, suzie q, knee slaps, chugs, shorty george, applejacks, spank the baby, grapevines, camel walks.

8-week session, stream at your own pace.
This progressive class focuses on classic solo jazz sequences. It will be expected that you have some mastery of basic solo jazz movements and experience learning choreography.
Routines: Tranky Doo, Doin' The Jive, Fast Shim Sham.

This class covers classic and new solo jazz routines. Students should have knowledge of basic solo jazz moves and some experience learning choreography.
Routines: Second half of The Big Apple, Sharon Davis routine ("Gang Busters"), Dean Collins Shim Sham.
