6 - 7:15 pm Workshop

What is Balboa?

Balboa is a dance style that originated in California in the 1920s and 30s. A subtle, sub-style of swing, it can be danced in a small space to a variety of tempos. Primarily danced in close embrace, Balboa can be woven right into your other styles of swing dancing.

Beginner Balboa Workshop

Jen & Ray will introduce you to the basics of Balboa in this special workshop. We'll cover the basic footwork, the comearound, and the tossout. Total beginners welcome, although some partner dancing experience is helpful.

Stay for an open practice session afterwards where you can practice Balboa or Lindy Hop.

Pre-registration suggested but not required for the workshop. Walk-ins welcome.

You may drop-in for just the practice session for $5 at the door.

Class also available on Zoom.

All those registered for the workshop will receive a link to the full class replay and a short recap the next day.
